On 13 February 1938 'Rodney', a wooden motor vessel, was operating as a ferry on Sydney Harbour where it capsized. The ferry was one of many boats farewelling the United States cruiser 'Louisville'. It is though to have capsized due to passengers crowding one side, as a result 19 people drowned.
