Four people were killed and a doctor miraculously walked away from the crash of a Cessna 402. The Wide Bay Aerial Ambulance Service's plane crashed soon after take-off while on a mercy dash to Brisbane in the early hours of June 21. The plane's fourth crew member from the Bundaberg Base Hospital, survived the impact, fires and explosions with only burns on his hands. The plane plunged into thick scrub 1km from the runway soon after leaving the airport to transport a critically-ill woman to a Brisbane hospital. The cause of the crash could not be determined though there were several possibilities.
