Supporting high priority national disaster resilience initiatives

National Emergency Management Projects (NEMP)

About the NEMP Program

The National Emergency Management Projects (NEMP) program supports high priority national disaster resilience initiatives identified by the Australia-New Zealand Emergency Management Committee (ANZEMC).

The NEMP program is managed by the Attorney-General's Department, through Emergency Management Australia.

The NEMP program funds projects that will deliver and support major, national emergency management capability and development activities.

These projects:

  • enhance Australia's natural disaster resilience by supporting measures that strengthen communities, individuals, business and institutions to minimise the adverse effects of disasters
  • allow governments and communities to better prevent, prepare, respond to and recover from disasters
  • support natural disaster capability activities that deliver significant outcomes for the national emergency management sector
  • encourage partnerships between governments, the private and not-for-profit sectors, communities and individuals to increase natural disaster resilience.

The NEMP program has funded projects over a number of years.  Details of the most recent projects funded through the is program are available through the links below.
