During the period April - October 1890, the Darling River and tributaries in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia experienced flooding.

Many regions across these states were affected by the flood waters and damage was extensive. Reports of damage included the loss of homes, businesses, crops and livestock. Transport and communications were disrupted in New South Wales and South Australia for months.

The death toll for this event was recorded at nine.
