Flood - Southern Tasmania

On 26 February 1854 severe flooding was recorded in Hobart and several lives were lost. On 11 March of the same year substantial rainfall fell throughout Tasmania.

TheĀ Jordan River was at its highest level since 1828 by just under 1m. On the Clyde River, the Hamilton bridge was washed away.
