Cyclone Audrey began on 28 February 1969, and brought rough seas and heavy rain to the north and west coasts of the Northern Territory. It caused only minor damage, including uplifting roofs on Milingimbi and Maningrida buildings.

At Goulburn Island off the northern Arnhem Land coast, four fishermen were killed by the cyclone.
