Three people died in bushfires in Victoria, which started in February 1965 near Seymour, and burnt until mid-March in Gippsland and coastal areas of Victoria.

Approximately 300,000 hectares of forest, 15,000 hectares of grassland and more than 60 buildings were destroyed. More than 4000 livestock also perished during the fires.
