On 1 February 2001, 35 students were injured and 1 was killed when a car crashed into a school bus taking students home from school. The driver of the bus, along with drivers of two other vehicles sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the car lost control of his vehicle as it rounded a bend on the Princes Highway. It collided with the south-bound bus and was torn apart.
