At 8:52am on 17 June 1999, a twin engine turbo prop Bandierante aircraft crashed in mountainous terrain 20 kilometres east of Goroka, in the Eastern Highlands Province.

Operated by Papua New Guinea domestic carrier Airlink, the plane was en route to Goroka from Nadzab in Morobe province.

All 17 people on board died, among them four Australians. Due to the loss of Australian's onboard, this disaster has been included in this dataset.
