National Security Knowledge and Lessons Management

Between 2011 and 2014, the Australian Government Attorney-General's Department conducted three National Security Knowledge and Lessons Management workshops; both to develop lessons management approaches and capability, and to identify the lessons.

Conducted in 2011, 2013 and 2014, the workshops identified national themes; and established an ongoing mechanism to share lessons, enhance a national lessons management network, and develop tools and techniques to enhance knowledge and lessons management across the nation.

Each report replicates the workshop structure: 

  • the first part outlines the lessons themselves identified from experiences in an operational context
  • the second part outlines approach to, and improvements in, managing knowledge and lessons.
