Disaster Resilience Education equips young Australians with the skills and confidence to take protective action before, during and after an emergency or disaster.
This handbook will explore:
- be the authoritative and trusted source of knowledge for national principles on Disaster Resilience Education
- promote the adoption of good practice in Disaster Resilience Education through outlining common language and key concepts
- illustrate effective approaches to learning and engagement in a variety of contexts
- align national disaster risk reduction and resilience strategy and policy with Disaster Resilience Education for Young People by informing and assisting jurisdictions, agencies and other organisations and individuals, to engage with young people and school communities on understanding and addressing disaster risk
