In May 1999, police discovered eight bodies decaying in barrels in the vault of a disused bank at Snowtown, north of Adelaide. A further two bodies were found buried in the backyard of a northern Adelaide house and police later linked two more deaths to the case that occurred several years earlier.

Four men are serving sentences ranging from life imprisonment to 18 years non-parole for their varying roles in the killings.
